Oooh wow, that's tough to look at.

The place three doors to the south () just sold for $515k; that was an awesome house.

Keeping $515k in mind: If you're the DIY type, I think that if you paid $460k for the house and set aside another $55k for remodeling, you could turn 2835 Highview around 180 degrees.

Something else to consider on a property like this is that you could probably obtain FHA 203K "rehab" financing. They will lend the purchase price + renovation amounts - 3.5% for the FHA downpayment.

Personally, I would need to go in less than $460k. I've been in a number of homes like these and they are always worse-off than the pictures imply. Always.
