Northridge, CA - P&K "Living Conditioned" Home

Postby Perks » Thu Feb 16, 2012 4:36 pm

A Palmer & Krisel "Living Conditioned" home just came on the market. At $379k and in mostly original condition, this short sale might be a good opportunity for any buyer who has been disappointed in the current stock of more affordably-priced mid-century modern homes in L.A.

It seems to have a few unfortunate touches, but I'd hate to see a house this original go to someone who doesn't appreciate the style...

Not my listing, but I'm happy to help any interested buyer.

Considering the horrors that some of the homes in that neighborhood have been subject to this one is relatively unscathed; it appears to be a really good starting point. Because of the relative affordability, location, size of the lots and limited appeal of the original architecture these homes tend to be prime candidates for mcmansionizaton (yeah, people STILL don't get it); so what Perks said, it would be a real shame to see this one go down that road.[/i]

Actually, the countertops appear to be the original 1959 tile. I've seen the same tile in 2 other houses in that neighborhood.
Where are we going & what are we doing in this handbasket?

Sharp eyes will notice the still intact NuTone intercom speaker/clock and Kitchen Center:

...that might be evidence of originality, how many remuddlers would re-install that?

Doesn't somebody around here live in that neighborhood, are they the picture sharing type?
