I've looked at 2871 Hollyridge a number of times. What I see is an interesting property butchered by an insensitive flipper. The finishes are shoddy, the fixtures cheap, and the recently added bedroom the worst room in the house. It's staged to suck in the hip crowd, but anyone with any architectural interest will see right though this ruse. Hence it sits on the market.

It smacks of greed. At $1.3 million it's a bit of a joke considering it was sold a year ago for under $1m at the height of the market. And now the property market is slumping, I wonder if the flipper is beginning to freak out.

A sensitive restoration would make this property a lovely place to live. Right now it's a bit tacky. Like a vintage Ferrari with rust and a shoddy pink paint job.

I have to say that kitchen is sweet. Love the cooktop and fridg. Not to big but open. (As you can probably tell I'm not a cook if I like small kitchens, but I can boil a mean kettle of water!)
Lost as always, but if you find me you'll win a prize!

IN....

Postby modfan » Wed Sep 20, 2006 7:34 am

The US some homes are made of brick and some are wood frame.
It just depends on the region. In So. Cal. brick homes are rare they don't hold up well in an earthquake (unless they have been reinforced somehow) and the brick is usually just decorative.
I've browsed Google and there was a house in the UK that was 'Eichler like' but it didn't have much of the story to go with it, have you heard of it and where it is?

That's it!
Good to know it was added as a new thread and x posted on the Eichler Network.
