Sorry Craig, I didn't mean it this way. Your post was quite clear really, but thanks for taking the time & further develop on it.
I just thought it would be interesting to associate your two statements in this manner (& I did add: "presumably" in it), introducing it with: "If I might use what you've just stated in the following manner"...
I shouldn't have used the "quote" feature on this one. As a matter of fact, I'll remove the "quotes" so that there is no confusion & take full responsability on what was written.
Again sorry. But I'm pretty certain we're evolving on the same basis here.

At $30M+ the Segal house is a steal!
David Geffen recently sold a painting for $140M. With a price per square foot of over $4M.

People like that have tax problems and solutions we can only dream about.
But what i really want to point out is, like the dept. store ads say:
"original or asking prices may not have resulted in sales"
Right now it's just the shiny loaded car out in front with an inflated sticker the dealer hopes someone will pay.

Do you think the Philco () Predicta Pedestal TV is included in the $33,5M or is an extra?
: "Would anyone know when the addition's bedroom height was cut by half, adding a second floor to this once beautifully skylight double height space?"

Is that wall paper on the formerly raw concrete bedroom walls?
I don't care much for the decorating. In vintage photos the house looked calm and serene. The living room sofa has gone from zen to cha-cha.
Now we know who did the decorating in Monica and Rachel's old place...

If there is one thing -- besides a great baseball franchise -- that Dodgers owners Frank and Jamie McCourt like, it's a fine home.
They bought one in Holmby Hills for about $25 million when they first came to L.A. from Boston in 2004. Now, they have purchased a Malibu house for close to its $33.5 million asking price. Escrow closed last week.
The sellers were actress Courteney Cox Arquette, of "Friends" fame, and her husband, actor David Arquette, star of the "Scream" series of films. They paid nearly $10.2 million for the home slightly more than six years ago and put it on the market in February.
The architectural trophy home was designed by John Lautner, who studied with Frank Lloyd Wright. Lautner, known for his modernistic designs, died at age 83 in 1994...
