Great views! Maybe it's me, how is this home "Lautner-esque"? And you also get 10 parking spaces.

Yeah, this guy really stretched the imagination with calling this Lautner-esque. Just because it is stone and modern doesn't mean that it looks like Lautner's Wolff or Familian. I see more of a generic version of A. Quincy Jones if anything. They should just let the place be what it is. Maybe he should describe the house in cocktail ingredient terms. Mix one part 80's mod with tonic. Add a splash of A. Quincy Jones and John Lautner. Now you have a Modtini.

There is indeed something Jones"-esque" about it, or maybe its just plain "architectural" & nothing more...

Very much Wrightian in its plan layout & materials though. Called "Lautner-esque" maybe from a lack of knowing "good old Frank"?
We have now moved on forward on to his apprentices for references

It's a nice little house that grew too big for its britches ? Or perhaps the owner expected to entertain large groups. . .

AT least we aren't treated to the ocean of furnishings that must have occupied all this space !

Everyone should have a knoll to perch their house on, says I.

At random, I stumbled across the virtual tour for this house http://www.1345vistamoraga.com/ and remembered it from this thread. I have decided that I think Marmol Radziner could make this place amazing. Then again, I think they can make anything amazing. However, purists may argue.

I can see wanting to "re-imagine" this property; but it's heavenly just as is, perhaps ? Replace the unfortunate knee-braced patio roof addition with a more diaphanous one, perhaps -- and the too-strong boarded ceiling color could be toned a bit ? (we're not talking "ranch modern," here. . .! ).

Thanks for the enhanced view. SDR
