Los Angeles, CA - Wilt Chamberlain's pad for sale

Postby MD² » Thu Mar 29, 2007 10:24 am

Old news, see this (see end of article) & more recently: http://www.lottaliving.com/bb/viewtopic ... 0944#50944

but for those who'd like to know more...

60s NBA star finished his 15 years long pro career, with the LA Lakers in 1973. Profesionally, he remains the only NBA player ever to score 100 points in a single game & is one of (if not) the greatest basketball player(s) in history.

In 1971, Chamberlain got the "ultimate" bachelor pad built for himself. He named it after his own nickname of the Big Dipper. The 7,158sq.ft house was designed by & is situated at .

Here's a detailed article describing the original house:

Unfortunately for him, Chamberlain made a public claim in 1991, stating that he had had sex with 20,000 different women in his lifetime (basically a different woman every day since his... birth!). His macho accounting evidently backfired on him with the public.

Chamberlain passed away in 1999 (at age 63). His house was subsequently put up for sale, but even at $4.3M, it couldn't find a buyer.
Here's another description of the house:

& finally purchased the house from Chamberlain’s estate in 2002 for nearly $3M & had House & Garden's editor Paul Fortune completely remodel the interiors.

They have now put the , down from $11.5M (Zillow's value range for this house is set at $4,3M - $5,5M).

To this day, only one question remains: who is David Tenneson Rich?
