Postby TopazGuys » Wed Apr 18, 2007 7:50 am

Our beautifully restored 1959 Meiselman home is currently listed for sale. It was completed about five years ago by a landscape architect and interior designer couple for their own use. Lushly landscaped grounds, freeform pool, inground spa and firepit. Stunning western and southern mountain views. Please contact our realtor, Fred Henry, at 760-534-1617. Nice photo layout. What about square footage, location, price?

Berne Dr house

Postby SkipHome » Wed Apr 18, 2007 2:23 pm

The house is in Racquet Club on Berne Dr, just south of via Escuela.
Literature out front says they're asking $749,000. This already sold once for over $700K. Pretty sure it's not been enlarged, so that would make it about 1200 sq ft.

Actually, SkipHome is confusing our house with the house next door, which is also for sale. Our house is listed for $725,000. And it has sold twice before for $700,000 or more. And technically it's not in Racquet Club Estates, which is an Alexander Company tract. Ours is a Meiselman.

Racquet Club

I was referring to the neighborhood, which is known as Racquet Club, and not the Alexander tract name. I wouldn't want anybody to confuse a Meiselman with an Alexander!

Remodeled

Postby SkipHome » Fri Apr 20, 2007 12:13 pm

An important note that is obvious if you view the slideshow - the house is not restored but remodeled and rehabbed. granite countertops and mosaic tiles were not in the original meiselmans.

That is one beautiful slide show. I really like the updates - they seem to be complementary to the original design.
Best regards,

Just a reminder that our house is open this Saturday and Sunday, from 11:00 to 2:00, for any of you that might be in Palm Springs! Forgive the typo in my previous post; our street, Berne Drive, runs parallel to Via Miraleste and Avenida Caballeros.

Absolutely beautiful home-love the restraint you showed in not cluttering-up the decor! Are the couch and chairs in the living room vintage? Love the clean lines......

Thanks, Dirt Diva, for your nice comments.

Actually, we purchased the house turnkey furnished, so most of what you see in the photos is vintage. Ironically, the upholstered pieces in the living room had been vintage Dunbar, but were in fairly ratty shape. Rather than have them reupholstered, we sold them to one of the Palm Springs consignment stores, and replaced them with new pieces. The couch and chairs which you admired were all purchased last June at Crate and Barrel, at bargain prices, since they had been discontinued.

Berne Dr Meiselman

This is a truly beautiful home, with just the right contemporary touches to complement its MCM roots. The color scheme, landscaping, exterior lighting are all top notch. And it's on one of the nicest streets in the area.

Beautfully renovated 1959 Meiselman in Palm Springs

Postby TopazGuys » Sun Aug 26, 2007 10:17 am

Our house has been off the market since Memorial Day. Given all of the "doom and gloom" stemming from the recent mortgage meltdown, we have no immediate plans to re-list it for sale. The dedicated website is still online however (see our first post). If anyone is interested in the house, please contact us, or contact our realtor, whose name and number are on the dedicated website.

Hi Guys- Good to see you this weekend! I had some clients come through my listing on Milben on Sunday, but I think your house may be more to their liking. Is it possible to show it? or should I contact Fred?
THANKS
