This is my favorite Lautner by far and quite possibly my favorite house in all of Los Angeles, too.

THIS IS VERY STRANGE

See the following topic: http://www.lottaliving.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=6888

According to my records (and the LA County Assessor's), the Wolff house was:
Sold on September 1st, 2006 for $4,950,049
Sold on January 3rd, 2006 for $4,100,041
Sold on April 12th, 2005 for $4,150,041
...

The following article : http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2007/ ... -mogul.php , says that Gallo bought the house in July 2006 for just under $4 million...

???

Gallo listed the building as a Historic Cultural Monument which granted him the possibility to also apply for the Mills Act, enabling him to receive property tax relief...
Yet according to the City records, these procedures were initiated by Gallo in March 2006...

Is he reselling the house to himself?

That is surely not Lautner's kitchen design ! And what's with the railroad-tie (?) retaining wall ?

Still, nice to see new shots of the house. How did Lautner (?) eliminate a railing at the deck ? Foam mattresses below ? I like it !

SDR,

I don't remember the rail road tie wall below the pool. Memory is hazy, but I seem to recall stone there, which was then removed exposing the underlying concrete. What happend next, I don't know.

And no, it's not a Lautner kitchen. The house was extensively remodeled a few years ago by a previous owner. Besides the kitchen and bathrooms, this also included relocating the stair, which is now also curved. Generally a very sensitive alteration.

MD2,

I generally find Zillow's Zestimates to be rather Zilly. Their price estimate model might work in a homogenous tract neighborhood, but not for custom houses. It is very usefull though for research.
