Cool idea. I wonder how rustproof that double floorpan would be -- seems like a good place to trap water.
The '54 Kaiser Darrin had really slick disappearing doors that slid into the front fenders. Probably the coolest U.S. factory production 2-seater of the decade.

Yeah, I recall the Darrin. Saw it at an auto show once, back in the day.

Wonder which direction the rear door moved in. . .?
I get the idea that the disappearing door stays on the outside of the undercarriage when opened, but I could be wrong; note that they imply that the ground clearance suffers (presumably only when parked) on a retrofit job, but that a built-from-scratch installation corrects this problem. . .

1988-91 BMW Z1 ?
They were designed on the classic principle of the lightweight roadster that had removable door panels & could be driven with or without doors. Because of this, they were deemed as illegal in the U.S.
