Make-up Rule

Anyone can become a participant, including prior year participants, in MCMFD III up until one (1) second past midnight of the last selection date according to the Draft Schedule Rule. On their first day of participation, such participant can make up to the number of selections according to the Draft Schedule Rule. Likewise, participants who did not make selections on a daily basis, can on any given day make additional selections equal to the number of skipped days, such that by the end of any given day their roster does not exceed the number of draft selections for new participants as shown in the Draft Schedule Rule.

Nichols Rule

Postby sky » Thu Mar 25, 2010 7:28 pm

Nichols Rule

All draft picks are not official unless they are specified in written English. One example of an invalid selection is the posting of a photograph without written description. Such a selection is invalid until remedied, and the person or object of the photograph remains in the general draft pool for selection by any MCMFD III participant. Similarly, a selection in any other form other than written English is invalid. However, if the person or object being drafted has a non-English name, such name shall be considered in compliance with this rule to the extent that the name can be formed by any standard QWERTY type keyboard.

Trading Rule

Postby sky » Thu Mar 25, 2010 7:28 pm

Trading Rule

Trading between two or more participants is encouraged. However, such trades will not be official recorded in MCMFD III until all participants to the trade have clearly posted their intent to trade within this MCMFD III thread, where the intent of all participants to the trade is clearly identical. Trades must be specified in compliance with the Nichols Rule. Trading, including trades for future draft picks, cannot begin until the first day of the draft as indicated in the Draft Schedule Rule and must be completed by the deadline specified in the Draft Schedule Rule.

Participant Rule

Postby sky » Thu Mar 25, 2010 7:28 pm

Participant Rule

Although anyone can participate, a participant must be a registered member of Lotta Living in good standing. Active participants who subsequently lose their good standing status during the draft are immediately ineligible upon such event, and all selections on their roster at that moment, including those people or objects obtained through the Trading Rule, are returned to the general draft pool.

Fair Election Rule

The Slide Rule, has been forwarded to the Rules Sub-Committee for further study. Under the rules, the Sub-Committee has seven days from the date of the proposal, to either move the new rule to the full Committee for the Rules, or to let the rule, as proposed, slide.

Intellectual Property Rule

A team drafting a person owns the rights to the person only and not the person’s intellectual property. Conversely, a team drafting an object, or property, owns only the rights to the object and not to the person who owns the rights to that object or property. For example, in drafting the designer of a chair, the team owns only the rights to the designer, and in drafting a chair, the team owns only the rights to the chair.

Lebowski Rule

Notwithstanding the Schedule Rule, the draft will be suspended between sunset April 14 and sunset April 15, and again between sunset April 21 and sunset April 22. For the purposes of this rule, sunset will begin based on the easternmost meridian of the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States and end on the westernmost meridian of the forty-eight (48) contiguous United States. Note that participants not making their daily pick by sunset of April 14 or 21, and participants making voided picks during the suspended periods, are entitled to make or replace their voided picks pursuant to the Make-up Rule.

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear about this important point, dilettante, but I am not "the initiator." I am nothing more than a conduit, who can do it, when the initiator for mysterious reasons cannot. However, we are both grateful for your show of support and happy to hear about your pumped-up-edness.

But please know that my appreciation will in no way reduce the smack-down which you are about to receive.

Texas School Book Rule

The architect Frank Lloyd Wright is not to be considered a modern architect for the purposes of the Well-Formed Rule. This rule is effective for MCMFD III, but is also to be applied retroactively to the first and second MCM Fantasy Drafts.

Oh no, Mr Bill! I thought you were being facetious about looking forward to the the draft, but there you are with your Franchise pick. And while I respect that pick - especially in light of the Texas School Book Rule, FLW being your property - I still intend to deck the board with boughs of your folly ... again.

My Franchise pick is from the second draft:

The Martini

Because I think the food/drink category is harder to fill under the Well-Formed Rule.
