When I first learned of Superstar Limo, I thought that might be a problem: recognizability of celebrities among varying generations. However, I, too, was interested in the dark ride aspects. I thought the sets looked neat. Having now seen that YouTube video, I'm sure I would've enjoyed it whether or not I recognized all of the celebrities (and I'm sure there are newer celebrities who would've been totally foreign to me). That ride looks a lot funner to me than an actual tour of Hollywood/Beverly Hills (and maybe the Animatronics are more interesting than some of the celebrities?).

Here's some YouTube footage of the upcoming Little Mermaid ride: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=py9Gfuhhf20

how exciting to se that you tube on the mermaid! it's nice to see them going back to fairy tail themed rides.

here is a drawing that i submitted (unsolicited) years and years ago to imagineering:
Image

the idea was for a hanging suspended semi-roller coaster (a faster version of the peter pan ride) that would fly around where the old motor boat cruise was between fantasyland and tomorrowland.

i got a letter back from them saying that they already had an aladdin ride in florida - a totally virtual one. sorry, but virtual rides just don't do it for me!!! if i'm riding on a magic carpet i want to feel the wind in my hair.

Neat! I think an Aladdin dark ride would have a lot of possibilities. The film had some pretty wild scenes.

I forgot all about that Aladdin virtual experience in Florida. (I didn't think to look for it on my last trip.) I think Euro Disneyland has an Aladdin attraction that's just off-the-shelf: vehicles flying in a circle a la Dumbo.

Years ago on a Disneyland discussion board, me and another participant kind of jointly had an idea of expanding Storybook Land vis-a-vis having a tunnel leading to the old Motor Boat Cruise area.

On the subject of virtual reality/simulator rides, I usually prefer dark rides, too, but I think simulator rides can be very well-done (e.g., many of the Showscan ride-films that are shown at Las Vegas's Excalibur--I think they're still there--and used to be shown at City Walk, Hollywood. I couldn't get enough of Cosmic Pinball and the Devil's Mine Ride).

I think the new Star Tours (opening at Disneyland next month) sounds interesting: it's going to travel to multiple planets, and because the new film will be computer generated, they've worked out a way to make the film vary in about 50 different ways. Thus each trip will be a little different.
