 But we have to move on.

For its final pick of the draft, picked as per the rules on the final day of the draft, Team sky selects its Ayn Rand character, Howard …. No wait that's not right. I think it's important to choose from "The Fountainhead" because it is much more in tune with the MCM architectural theme so prevalent here on Lotta Living. (Otherwise, I would have selected Equality 7-2521 from Anthem!) But do I really want to pick the terrorist who endangered innocent lives by dynamiting Cortlandt Homes? How could the DA not get a conviction on that? Roark’s legal course of action was against Peter Keating in the civil courts. And didn’t he already know that Peter Keating was a dweeb before he made a deal with him? Bad judgment, bad judge of character – not on my team. Let's try that again.

For its twelfth pick, Team sky selects as its Ayn Rand Character:

    Henry Cameron, architect

It's not too late for anyone to participate by posting their complete 12 person team today. And, of course, JulieB can pick her remaining four picks today. And therefore, I will wait until tomorrow until declaring Team Sky as the winner of MCMFD V.

My final picks:

    Ragnar Danneskjold, Rrrrrr
    June Cleaver, The Beaver's Mom
John Yerkes Iselin, The Manchurian Candidate, and
    Barbarella

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how we do that.

mon 4-6 dexter haven
tues 4-17 big brother
wed 4-18 cyrano - time stamp shows before midnight - but i thought i posted this AFTER midnight... wierd.... maybe big brother had something to do with this?
thurs 4-18 peter pan. my mistake - i was abducted by aliens and thought it was already thursday.
BUT since no one else has since requested peter pan as an indian chief in the hours since. i will now on 4-19 thursday, select peter pan as my indian chief. and will accept the full asterisk as punishment for jumping the gun.

i will not trade lucy and even if i wanted to trade... big brother will not let go of me.
I'm gonna keep on the run... I'm gonna have me some fun if it costs me my very last dime.
If I wind up broke up, well, I'll always remember that I had a swingin' time

Down below, to the right of the "post a reply" bubble, it says "All times are GMT - 8 Hours" so probably does not account for DST. (Edit: And then after I posted this, it changed to "GMT - 5 Hours"!) Don't worry, though, I for one won't think any different of you or your draft picks even with the asterisk. Stupid Committee.

Now ... here's what I think of the draft picks:

astronaut: 1/2 point Team Sky, 1/2 point Team JulieB
ayn rand char: 1 point Team Futura Girl
doctor: 1 point Team Sky
extraterrestrial: 1 point Team Sky
housewife: 1 point Team Futura Girl
indian chief: pick em’
lawyer: 1/2 point Team JulieB, 1/2 point Team Futura Girl
news person: 1 point Team Sky
poet: 1 point Team Sky
politician: 1 point Team Futura Girl
singer: 1 point Team JulieB
spy: pick em’

Team Sky: 4.5
Team JulieB: 2
Team Futura Girl: 3.5 *

You should have picked Top Cat's Officer Drivel for your cartoon character because that's what your analysis of the draft is, shear drivel!

His name was Officer Dibble, not drivel. And I didn't choose a cartoon character for my team, I chose a very fine poet.

No, it was Futura Girl that picked the Bolshevik.

Flintstone was a very fine poet. He wrote:

Flintstone wrote:You’re a perfect peach, my love, together we make a pear.

If you close your eyes, then you'd swear it was William Carlos Williams who penned that.

Flintstone was the clear winner there. Although Gillis was always looking for truth and beauty, he and Krebbs were caught cheating on their poetry exam. And as pointed out before, Zhivago was ECM, not MCM - somewhere around 1917.

I repeat, Bolshoi!

How can you declare a winner when you banned the only competition you really had?

You can compete next year, Sean .... and then you can draft Officer Drivel, if that's who you want.

No can do. You're banned.

And MCMFD V is over.

And I won ... against some really tough competition.

Banned from the MCMFD, I am. But what about a supplemental draft, Mano-a-Mano?

You and your friend Mano can go do whatever you like - start your own thread - whatever.

Nobody calls me a chicken!

Okay. A supplemental draft. Let's make it more difficult - same theme and positions, but no one picked in MCMFD V is eligible. We start Sunday, April 22, and draft for 12 days.

And not Mano-a-Mano - make it Mano-a-Mano-a-Mano or Mano-a-Mano-a-Mano-a-Mano or however many Manos or Womanos who might want to join in. It will only make it more interesting.

And more kinky.

Game on, Chump.

I'll see you on the field of battle on Sunday! And may I, the best man, win.

What's the bloody difference? I'm here. You're here. Now go on, make one of your tortured picks - unless you want to concede that I have the superior team already.

Suppose somebody else wanted to participate - remember, we said mano-a-mano-a-mano or more if anyone wanted to. It wouldn't be fair.

On the other hand, I don't think we have to worry about someone else wanting Mark Rutland. If what you intended was your character in "Marnie," well, he wasn't even a doctor.

I played him as a psychiatrist.

Put it down there in your little googly thing, and let's move on. It's your turn.

There you are:

But I'm going to wait until the official start of the supplemental draft for my first pick. It's killer - I can't believe he wasn't picked in the first round.

Arrrgh! There's so many things wrong with this picture, I don't know where to start.

It's not your turn.
Daniel Dravot was not a lawyer.
The draft doesn't start until tomorrow.
What are you going to do - draft a team of only characters that you played? I can't wait to see your fictional housewife.
