Ta-da! And welcome to MCM Fantasy Draft VI. This year, we are recasting Academy Award winning movies with MCM personalities. Anyone can play. The only limitation is that each player gets one pick per day (plus make-up picks, if you start after today), and that you cannot draft the original actor or actress for a position.

A well-formed team consists of an mcm personality in each of these twelve positions:
  1. Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando), The Godfather.
  2. Margo Channing (Better Davis), All About Eve.
  3. Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), Casablanca.
  4. George Patton (George Scott), Patton.
  5. Randle Murphy (Jack Nicholson), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
  6. Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier), In the Heat of the Night.
  7. Eliza Doolittle (Audrey Hepburn), My Fair Lady.
  8. Father O'Malley (Bing Crosby), Going My Way.
  9. Gollum (?), Lord or the Rings.
  10. Popeye Doyle (Gene Hackman), The French Connection.
  11. Jerry Mulligan (Gene Kelly), An American in Paris.
  12. Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster), The Silence of the Lambs.

Since Sky has the advantage of knowing the draft criteria ahead of time (how does he do that?), Team Sky will not start drafting until tomorrow. The rest of Lotta Livingites are good to go now.

So Ladies and Gentlemen, and everyone else above, below, or in between, start you draft engines!

And note that you can follow this draft and all prior MCM Fantasy drafts, here:

I'm going to open with a pair of Jacks.

My make-up pick for yesterday is Jaqueline Kennedy in My Fair Lady, and today's pick is Jackson Pollock in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

1. Vito Corleone (Marlon Brando) The Godfather. Jerry Lewis
2. Margo Channing (Bette Davis), All About Eve.
3. Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart), Casablanca.
4. George Patton (George Scott), Patton.
5. Randle Murphy (Jack Nicholson), One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
6. Virgil Tibbs (Sidney Poitier), In the Heat of the Night.
7. Eliza Doolittle (Audrey Hepburn), My Fair Lady. Danny Kaye

Hey, can't i just have Jerry Lewis play every role?
Why am I on secret probation?
I'm gonna keep on the run... I'm gonna have me some fun if it costs me my very last dime.
If I wind up broke up, well, I'll always remember that I had a swingin' time

What's wrong with Danny Kaye? (Nothing!)

Well, these are excellent and unexpected choices FG!

Regarding your question, "can't i just have Jerry Lewis play every role?" I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I will take it to McFoda. (Modern Committee Of Fantasy Draft Associates - it's new, and yes, they know the "o" is misplaced, but they already ordered thousands of dollars worth of McFoda logo merchandise.)

As to why you are on secret probation, I think it was because of violations during MCMFD V. Here's a link to last year's draft. http://www.lottaliving.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=18006 I think if you look at the bottom of Page 2, you'll recall the incident. (Note that there is still an asterisk next to your Little Flying Eagle pick.) And then also you disclosed Superman's secret identity! Still, McFoda is new, as I said, replacing the old Draft Committee, and I'm sure they'd be willing to listen to you if you throw yourself at the feet of their benevolent mercifulosity.

So, here's a link to the draft list again:

http://mcmfd.bigdogwebpages.com/mcmfd.php

And a reminder that anyone on Lotta Living can join in at any time. ... except for Velveeta, of course, for another 36+ years.

Well, surprise, surprise, surprise! Regarding Futura Girl's question about having Jerry Lewis play every role, it turns out that a significant number of McFoda associates are French. So the answer is oui! (I love it when I speak French!) But note that this exception to the usual one per draft rule applies to Jerry Lewis only, and that each Jerry Lewis draft pick to the same team is limited to once per day.

Did I ever mention that my mother went to Weequahic High School with Jerry Lewis?

Anyway, that's it for the administrative portion of this post.

For its third pick, Team Sky selects Don Frank Lloyd Wright as its Godfather.

Draft time is the worst time of the year. I can't sleep at night for fear that someone will steal my next pick out from under me. I dodged another bullet today ...

For its fourth pick, Team Sky selects Sammy Davis Jr as Father O'Malley in Going My Way!

Doh! My nightmare come true - you nabbed one of my picks overnight, only I would have cast him in In the Heat of the Night. Can you imagine, "They call me Mister Ed!"

I think the date-stamping has more to do with your personal setting and whether you are signed in or not. That post I just quoted shows at 2:02 am for me. And it could be funky also because GoDaddy servers are in Arizona, so MT and no DST there - which is why your LRD comes an hour earlier when DST ends. So, no double secret probation for you ... yet.

For its fifth pick, Team Sky selects Charles Eames as Rick in Casablanca.

Note that Casablanca was once part of the Ottoman (get it?) Empire, so there is that. And in the supplemental draft, I can take Ray Eames as Ilsa.

http://mcmfd.bigdogwebpages.com/mcmfd.php

And, as always, please remember that anyone can join in at any time with their own formidable draft picks. Of all the draft joints, in all the towns, in all the world, you can walk into mine.

Liberace as Father O'Malley - there will be some changes made.

Gumby in An American in Paris - what can't that little hunk of green clay do? (But McFoda was practically begging you to pick Jerry Lewis!)

Team Sky selects Henny Youngman as Virgil Tibbs in In the Heat of the Night. (Take my sheriff ... please!)

Wow, FG going all-in for MCMFD VI! Fasten your seat belt, Uncle Martin!

Team Sky's French Connection is Le Corbusier ... but it seems so lame on the high heels of Ray Walston and Soupy Sales.

Through nine rounds:

For it's 12th and final pick, Team Sky selects Mr. Fred Astaire for An American in Paris. Let's see how he stacks up against Gene Kelly in the same role.

Gumby kind of just skates around. It's Pokey who is quite the hoofer.

Did you see in the Kentucky Derby a horse named Falling Sky finished dead last ... and one named Java's War that didn't fare much better? Luckily, I have the good sense not to bet on the ponies ... anymore.
