Finally got a pic to post. This is my car, but not my pic, it's from the auction when the car was sold to the guy I ended up purchasing the car from. The actual color is much more of a light turquiose, this picture is very washed out, but you get the idea.

I tried to darken the photo -- not entirely successful. Lovely car. The real wire wheels are a rare factory option ?

Good work SDR, the color is much closer to how it looks in person. The wire wheels I have are authentic reproduction wheels. They add a lot of flair to the car in my opinion.

That is one beautiful ride!
All the 'Birds from 1955 through 1966 are beautiful in their own right. This is the prettiest 1961 I've seen. Maybe it's the color combination, along with the wire wheels. And as the linked article states, the "Thelma & Louise" car is a 1966.
I'm pretty sure 1961 was the first year for that body.

Here is what we just picked up 2 weeks ago. almost no rust which is good for a 59 ghia. it is the latest in a list of almost 7 vw's we have owned. this is the oldest yet and we're hoping that by spring we can be cruising around town in it....updates to follow as progress is made!

I have a 1965 Valiant Regal....bought it about 2 years ago and so far have spent $950 in repairs and guess what..it's a daily driver.

On a whim, I placed a lowball bid for this 1963 Cadillac 62 series hardtop coupe on eBay. Much to my surprise, I won the auction.
Needs a few bits of mechanical work and some interior reconditioning, but the body is straight and in overall good shape. I haven't decided if I'm going to keep it or re-sell it (I know I can get more for it locally than I paid for it), but if I keep it it'll become my backup daily driver once I address its tendency to vapor lock in stop-and-go traffic.
I haven't actually seen the car in person yet but I should be receiving it in another week or two, depending on when the shipping compay gets around to picking it up and delivering it...

Heres my pop's vespa. Not the coolest scooter I've seen(black is lame/ugly seat), but for the price paid it will do. It should be mine soon enough.
Can someone identify the model? I beleive it was made 1960.

most likely it's a VBA 150. I have a '59. here are the specs on you model:
the best way to tell is to locate the VIN number on the lower left side of the frame. By the way, Scooter Help (the link above) is a helpful site. you want to pick up this manual to maintain it:

do replace the seat with something more original looking. that's a late model racing seat and does not look good on a vintage bike.

Score! Finally got my Caddy delivered today. Definitely needs some work but it's already been quite a hit during the little time I've spent tooling around town in it...
I've driven my fair share of classic cars, but never an older Cadillac. Wow! It really does feel like you're floating a few inches above the road. I was amazed. In fact, I dare say it's even more comfortable than my daily driver (a 2007 Dodge Charger R/T), although this car was definitely NOT built for speed or agility.

I almost bought a '75 Eldorado convertible, in white. There would have been no way I could have resisted Boss Hogg-ing up that rig (and buying a matching white suit to complete the ensemble).
I do love the cowboy plates, but I'm already rather tired of people asking me where in Wyoming I'm from...
Random fact on Wyoming plates and registrations. The registration card lists the license plate number as "3-P-11768." So I guess the cowboy equates to the letter "P" out there.
