What about the Chris & Pitts on Harbor Blvd. in Fountain Valley, between Warner and Edinger? Does it still survive?

That one still exists, but it's kind of dirty. As kids, my dad would take us to the Garden Grove location, but they tore that one down, so we started going to the Fountain Valley one. Now as an adult, I take my little brother to the one in Anaheim. I refuse to go back to the one in Van Nuys, because last time I was in there a HUGE cockroach was on my foot. The waitress saw it and the manager didn't do anything about it, so I got no luv for THAT location

The Van Nuys location hit the wrecking ball in '04, but the Chris' n Pitt's neon signs were saved by the Museum of Neon Art (MONA) and the American Sign Museum (ASM).

I'm very happy to announce that Chris' n Pitt's giant fascia sign in all of its neon-and-flickerbulb glory is just a few bulbs away from being fully restored. It will be up and running by this Saturday, in time for the MONA's opening party and retrospective of Larry Albright.

It's a helluva sight!

...and here's how the neon signage looked when it was still attached to the building:
