Lloyd Wright buildings in LA and vicinity

Postby davidk6 » Mon Aug 03, 2009 2:32 pm

Last year, with the help of members of this group, I put together a tour of FLW buildings in the LA area.

Can anyone supply, or suggests books or web sites that supply addresses of extant buildings designed by FLW's son, whose full name, I believe, was FLW junior, but who is usually known as LW?

Thanks
Dave

Have visited his grandson's Wayfarer’s Chapel, in Palos Verdes

so I knew his name and then used Archiplanet to Search for the lists you desire.

yes - thank you - that is the book!!!

srk1941 i did get your message - but i am so underwater right now - i can't even think straight. maybe you could post just a few of the pictures publically. as long as you don't reprint large portions of the book, it is allowed under "fair use" copyright.

If you are ever out in the desert near Joshua Tree, the Institute of Mentalphysics compound is an interesting collection of Wright-designed buildings. It's still some kind of religous retreat but as there wasn't much going on in the middle of summer they allowed us to walk the grounds and have a look at the founder's residence. It's little known and quite eccentric and reminds one of Taliesin West to a degree.
