I love those Dingbates also known as Shoe Box Architecture.
I hope the book includes architerctural drawings and a map
of Dingbate locations. Several architects found here at Lotta Living
also had designed Dingbate including Harold Zook, Harold Bissner,
David Lopez ect. Most notable Dingbate builder was JH Hedrick Co.

My old Guide to Architecture in LA (1982) mentions only a 1968 "stilted pavilion" in Pasadena, for Hank Bissner, and nothing at all for Zook or Lopez -- a sign that we're advancing in our interest if this architectural subset ?

More ! More !

My favorite Dingbat architects were Sam Resbord
and Jack Chernoff

Thanks. Lots for Jack via Google; nothing on Sam. I would have expected a lot of these boxes to have unknown designers -- or no designer on record ?

I got Sams last name spelled wrong.
It Sam Reisbord . His work is housed at UCSB in the
University Art Museum. and has been published.
Other Dingbat architects include Robert Skinner and Richard Banta
also notes Jules Salkin

And just beyond the Dingbats ????
Edward Fickett designed several NAMED apartment
