Sadly, the Wonder Bowl is gone :( Anaheim is pretty stripped of its great Googie landmarks. I can't imagine how someone could ever demolish something so awesome! Look at that sign!

Wonder Bowl was also in Downey

There was also a Wonder Bowl in Downey on Firestone Bvld. If there are any pictures of that alley around I would sure like to see them. It was right down the street from Johnies Broiler.

Fantastic! A color version!
I have the BW image on my site.

I grew up very close to Wonder Bowl and was sad when it closed and was finally torn down.
Here is a postcard image from the interior.

Anaheim convention Center

Postby hanna1 » Tue Aug 03, 2004 5:55 pm

1966 I had just moved out on my own, worked at Dysneyland, they were just putting up the Convention Center, my friends asked if I had an old sheet, just happened to have a white one, painted a peace sign on it, and in the middle of the night, they climbed to the top and flew "the flag of peace", it actually stayed up for a few days!! 8) Those were the days my Friends!!
