we plan on getting a room to watch the demise of the casino - like we did for circus circus - and all lotta living friends are cordially invited to the wake.

i'll update this thread if and when it happens.

Sounds like we have a few places we must see when we visit Vegas this week because they may not be there when we make it back.....

I've heard the Tropicana lounge is cool (and cheap, no cover)? Other endangered must-sees in addition to the Tropicana, Riveria and New Frontier? We were lucky enough to make it to the Stardust before it was destroyed.

Hi Futura Girl ... we just got back... we were on the run sooo much when we were there, I never got a chance to check my posts! We had a great time as always... visited the Tropicana and Fremont Street and got to see the awesome Peppermill and Riviera and Frontier signs.... and I would have gone to Circus Circus but I think clowns are scary....

Anyway, we get to Vegas at least once a year and our goal next year is to start going twice a year. We would love to come out for a Lotta Living event, or something similar to that... needless to say, we LOVE Vegas and try to keep up with the latest news about what's happening with the cool buildings out there. I'm sad to hear that the cool old stuff is disappearing while the MGM is building and selling studio condos starting at half a million.

Wish I could have come to the going-away party. Who's planning to attend the auction?

a small group of AAA members gathered on the north side - fittingly on stardust road - and watched it go down.
once again - a very surreal experience.

roadside - your pictures are wonderful - thank you for posting them.

Are there any other big demolitions coming up? How do you find out about future demos?

Hey guys

Don't know if you've already seen this video from other sources, but here's Polish news about the Frontier being exploded.
