Marxist Philosophy: "Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend; inside of a dog, it's too dark to read."

Alberta is gentrified Portland, inner NE Portland where in the past 10 years it has become a hip area to buy huge old victorian homes for cheap. Not much to offer in the way of MCM...unless you want a windchime mobile made of used forks or the like.
Sputnik Housewares...Jetset furnishings from the Atomic Age!

The slackers are my nephews. farthest from pretentious. (i should add intelligent). teens.
i think they hide and are embarrassed to show ambition. not a phase to worry about.
just want to avoid spending too much time in coffee houses and gift shops. i was just
taken back a bit. i had a different picture of where my relatives lived.
i'll explore alot. i always do.

Ok, I know this is an old thread, but I just joined the site and had to respond when I found myself cracking up at 3am...

"David, try the Montage next time you're in PDX. The employees have great personalities."

Being that PDX is our 2nd home, I hope I'm in on the joke. If not, I'm going to feel really stupid because I'm still laughing.

If you do go to Portland, may I suggest a visit to The Alibi. Portland's best vintage tiki bar.
