- Safari Inn in Burbank, on Olive.

- Besides the original Glen Capri on San Fernando with the great neon, there's another Glen Capri (formerly Astro Inn) in a more central Glendale location on Colorado, 1 block E of Brand. Non-original sign, but nice zig-zag Googie roof and glass-enclosed lobby. There's other motels in Glendale along Colorado, but not many that are still readily identifiable as Googie.

Are you getting Rose Bowl ready, Joe?

Great win last week, but if you are anticipating smelling the roses in Pasadena, don't you risk getting jinxed?

This just in: Stanford 51, Oregon 42.

Sorry Joe. I hope that wasn't the case. But the Ducks are still in pretty good shape for the Pac-10.

I am a fan, so I am allowed to look ahead.

Stanford was a good team. our defense didn't match-up too well.

three more games, three more wins. We'll do it.

PLUS here's a new place that looks pretty cool. It's above a wacky flourescent Mexican restaurant in East Hollywood.

Anticipating your next question, Joe, I found this link of dive bars in the area for you:

Scowsa posted it in a different thread about tiki bars, but while I was checking it out, I found this and knew it was one of your interests. Pretty great site.

ooooh, nice, I am all about the Colorado Bar on Colorado Blvd, thanks!

we're probably doing NYE in Pasadena and I want to stay away from the big meat market sports bars.

tiki bars would be cool too.

thanks for the links, nichols, I'll check them out.

Another great game yesterday, Joe, and another close call with the Curse of the Duck-Billy Goat!

Good luck against the Beavers!

Congrats Joe and the Ducks.

I didn't know the game was on Thursday, so I missed it. Looking at the box score, though, it looks like it must have been a real web-foot biter for you.

And just now, looking to see if there's any chance for Masoli in the Heisman race (probably not), what do I find - a quote from Joe on Masoli's Facebook page!
