Admiral Twin, Rte 66 drive-in theater, lose screens in fire

Postby Baron von Swankenstein » Sat Sep 04, 2010 12:46 am

The Admiral Twin, the famed Route 66 drive-in theater in Tulsa, Oklahoma, seen in the 1983 film "The Outsiders," had its screens burn down in a fire yesterday.

Opened in 1951, the screens and screen tower were wooden. As a result, they were uninsurable. If you love drive-ins, Route 66, "The Outsiders," or just movies, consider helping the rebuilding effort. Click the story link for more information.

Search "Admiral Twin Drive-In" on Facebook to find their official Facebook page and rebuilding information.

Thank you.

"We are drive-in mutants. We are not like other people. We are sick. We are disgusting. We believe in blood and breasts and in beasts. If life had a vomit meter, we'd be off the scale. As long as one drive-in remains on the planet Earth, we will party like jungle animals. We will boogie 'til we puke. The drive-in will never die. Amen."
