Visiting Toronto

Postby squeaky » Wed Oct 13, 2010 4:45 pm

I'm going to visit Toronto in 2 weeks. I used to live there but haven't been back in years. I now live in LA where amazing vintage items are pretty accessible. Are there any vintage/furniture/home decor stores I must check out in Toronto?

Thanks.

I assume you have done a web search, but just in case

Also, you need to kill your duplicate post -- open it up and you will see an Edit option available to just you as the author.

Thanks for the tip about Virgin. I did end up getting a relatively cheap flight. I love flying Virgin airline whenever I can. I love the mod interiors. And thanks for deleting the duplicate post. I couldn't figure out how to do it since there was no option for that in "edit" section.

Thanks for the links Scowsa. I've been to a few of the stores in the lists years ago when I used to live there. I think we have a better vintage selection in LA but I was hoping locals who live in TO can let me know little gems which have not been discovered.

The one thing which I was really hoping to get which is mostly only available in Canada is an Electrohome Apollo record player. If any Torontonians know where I can find one for a reasonable price, please let me know. Thanks!

Come to Leslieville while you're in town!

Check out Leslieville (Queen St. East between Carlaw & Jones) while you're in town, and come by my store, Ethel - 20th Century Living to say "hi"!

There's a few other midcentury modern stores in the neighborhood, like Phil'z, ZigZag, Machine Age Modern and Highway 11. There's also tons of great places to eat around here too, as Leslieville has a reputation of being Toronto's best brunch neighborhood.
