I'm not a big fan of Goodman  and agree with you FG! Downtown is going to go through some MAJOR changes within the next few years and they need to be good ones! It'll be difficult though, with the area heavily saturated with drug addicts and prostitutes along with uncooperative business owners.

My sister turned my color shots into these. I really like what she's done to them!

Does anyone know if this Bank of Nevada in Las Vegas still exists? If so where is it? Thanks!

That building has been gone for a long time. It was a couple hundred yards north of the old TraveLodge next to Circus Circus.

WOW!!! :) :) :) :)

Thanks for posting! 715 looks like an intersting place to live! That isn't located on North LVB is it? For some reason it looks familiar to me. Not sure. I like the whole set up. I assume it's 2 seprate residences inside that one home? I like the wooden fences with the mailboxes hanging off of it lol. I also like that picture of apartment building 611. Awesome stuff! I wonder what the center courtyard looks like? Where's that located?

I noticed a few small neat homes/buildings heading up North LVB. I vaguely remember them since I was traveling up and back on the Deuce. On the east side of NLVB I remember seeing an interesting pink motel building. I can't remember, but that may have been abandoned?

People say that part of LVB is a 'seedy' area but it doesn't look so bad during the daytime to take a walk on. Though looks don't justifiy wether it IS wise to take a walk along there.

*eek!!!* Look at all those hideous monstrosities in the background! And the most annoying thing about them is they all look the same. Poor Vegas  Those weren't there last July when I went.

Wow that cool apartment sign is still there (red apartment sign with the yellow triangular thingies) :D .

Roadside pictures thanks for posting!

Damien,

Huntridge Drugs is still there on East Charleston, across Maryland Parkway from the old Huntridge Theater.

The owner of the Huntridge Theater also owns the Mattress store next to the theater. When I was a kid, the mattress store was a post office.

The Huntridge Theater is on the state (and maybe the national) registry of landmarked buildings but the mattress store owner wants out from under the Huntridge so, despite its landmarked status, many feel that it is an endangered building.

Awesome... Thanks for the info Lynn. I will be sure to venture out that way definately. Planning ahead, looking at Google Maps, Maryland Pky doesn't appear to be that far from the Fremont Street Experience/Neonopolis.

Oh wow, I looked up some news articles on the Huntridge Theater. I even found a snippet talking about the post office you mention :) I also read that the owner is being such a "hard ass", to coin the term loosely, about demolishing the theater but the city is doing everything it can to protect it. How often do scenarios like that occur in Las Vegas? The article said the theater is protected up until 2018.

Is that tower the Stratosphere ? I'm always surprised when I do quick research on it, and it's built in 1996, seems much more like 1970's at least

RoadsidePictures, can you please share some info on how you shoot these pictures: equipment, post-processing in Photoshop, etc.?

I've shot some of the same places as you, but for the most part I like your shots better. Partly I think it's because you live there and are able to take advantage of magic hour, whereas I only visit for a day or two and am greatly limited by time. But I would be curious to hear about your process.

Sorry for the delayed response...I hadn't seen your post!

I shoot with a Nikon D-80 and usually use manual settings and never use the flash. I usually just use PS for contrast or cropping. What kind of camera do you shoot with?

Here are some more recent shots...

Here are a couple of pictures from the vault showing the Stardust Hotel & Casino...
