When I moved last year, I thought this album had been left behind. I found it while digging through my storage unit on Saturday. I've listened to this since I can remember.

Glad you posted those Mark 56 Tijuana records. LOVE those.. I have about a dozen varieties. Found out that the great movie poster artist Reynold Brown painted all those great covers. Go see his doc

Very interesting, Nichols! Glad to know that Reynold Brown was the artist! Now, to find the rest of the albums! Have you any pictures of yours? I'd love to see them if you do!

I actually own that Dick Hyman album - learned to whistle "Me and My MOOG" as a kid.

You've got some great ones! I've started a collection too. Some of the spiritual ones are very strange, to say the least!

For whatever reason the cat pic didn't link properly. Here it is in all its glory (captured using "grab"):
Image

Is it just me or is that cat feeling some serious existential ennui. He really looks like he is feeling some doubt about his role as "cat". The boy's doing his bit but that cat is seriously in the depths of despair. Anyway, a classic.

You know, I figure that the guy who curated that show knows his stuff and probably has that weird sort of "these covers make me laugh but I love 'em" sensibility it takes to appreciate bizarre covers but those ones the LA Times selected are hardly all that bizarre or terrible.

What was wrong with Gleason cover? That James Brown cover was a tad busy but hardly qualifies for one the worst. There are so many greater offenders than these! Thanks for the link though. It's a shame I won't be able to check out the show.
