Another Fresno Gem!

There are some SUPER cool school sites in Fresburg, ain't they?
Glad you are chronicling them before they get all Clovis-ized.

If I recall, there are some pretty swell ones out towards Kingsburg and Selma, too. American School out on HWY41 still has the old "school lights" that Slim has lusted for. The concentric rings of brushed aluminum dropped from the acoustic ceiling. They don't have any remodeling plans on the books, but can't sell us one, either. Dang!
Pen-gu-ins is pracatically chickinz, and I hates to see chickinz cry so much, I has to put’em outta ther mizzery!

Yup. And many of these buildings are very unspoiled.

Benjamin Lippold also created the Reedley College that is very cool:

This is one of my favorites in Fresno:

Hm. Driven by there MANY times, but never had any reason to get up close. Clearly deserves a closer look! And did you snap the pix of the church? Great work!

There are just so many great MCM churches out there, it would be fun to catalog them a bit. I've noticed lots of city planners make a place for churches on the edge of town....I like to call it "worhip row". When you hit the right one, it can be a real bonanza.

Glad you are trying to chronicle the Fresno area stuff. And I think you're right-saving the Fulton Mall is the best first step.

Church architecture in the valley is amazing! There is a previous thread
http://www.lottaliving.com/bb/viewtopic ... chitecture
where I've included a bunch of them in the Fresno, Visalia and Tulare areas.

Here's one of my favorites, located fairly close to my own home:
