PASADENA- Lecture: Mid Cent Private Lives 3/9/13

Postby BLRees » Thu Feb 07, 2013 10:14 am

On March 9, local artist Leslie Williamson will examine the private worlds BEHIND famed personalities who broke the mold in the 50s and 60s when it came to architecture, art and design.

Williamson will share her compelling collection of photographs that show the homes of now-iconic personalities such as Jerome and Evelyn Ackerman, Charles and Ray Eames, Wharton Esherick and Albert Frey, to name a few.

This fascinating look behind the scenes reveals how these thought leaders employed style, fine art and traditional craft into their private homes as well as work and living spaces.

“Handcrafted Modern,” is part of the Sidney D. Gamble Lecture Series, sponsored by the Friends of the Gamble House.

The lecture takes place 6 pm on March 9, 2013 at the Neighborhood Church, 301 N. Orange Grove Blvd., Pasadena CA 91103. Lecture tickets are $20 per person, $15 for FOGH members. For more information, visit or call (626) 793-3334.
