May I please be the first to say that this party truly takes the cake. Although Nichols isn't fishing for compliments, he truly deserves a pat on the back for this one. My jaw was on the floor all night as I jumped for joy over every little detail in this wonderful, Venice home. A picture is worth a thousand words, so I do hope somebody posts a few.

'Twas the most magnificent Pun House I have ever seen.

My ears are still ringing with excitement.

I can take a hint:

There’s a button to play each instrument to the tune of “The Intro and the Outroâ€￾ playing in the background:

Everyone will have a computer in their home someday:

On the opposite side is the crapper, where there are controls for the bowling game in the floor. Hence, “toilet bowl:â€￾

It was the best holiday party ever, all due to Mr. Nicols and our gracious hosts and benefactors. The vodka was delicious, the home was incredible, and the singers were heavenly.

I guess I didn’t do a very good job selecting photos based on puns, so here are a few more – in sets of five to break it up a bit:

Couch potato (left), coffee table (coffee beans are under the glass top) and shark tank.
Image

Here’s a better photo of “toilet bowl.â€￾ Note that in the photos I posted above, the sink said “swimâ€￾ as in “sink or swim.â€￾
Image

Chest of drawers. (There was also a cross dresser, but that’s kind of in bad taste this time of year.)
Image

Convertible sofas.
Image

Larger than Life, Gun magazine, and probably some that I missed.

Lastly, this is what you see on the way out.

But of course the best part was meeting Chris, Lynn and Eric in person. I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet you, Velas, PlanetGlass, and khummer.

Nice article in the LA Times today about one of our party sponsors, Modern Spirits. MMmmmm.

LOS ANGELES TIMES

Flavored vodkas play well with others

Modern Spirits' unusual infused concoctions are perfect for food pairing. What goes with oysters? Rose vodka, of course!
By Charles Perry, Times Staff Writer

March 14, 2007

WIELDING six-pronged chippers, three people are smashing up 2-inch slabs of Belgian dark chocolate on a stainless steel table and tossing it, along with coils of fresh orange peel, into gleaming 50-gallon tanks of vodka. Just another Friday morning in a Monrovia industrial park.

This sterile yet aromatic room is the Modern Spirits Vodka "fruit lab," where Litty and Melkon Khosrovian and assistant Randy Clemens — the entire Modern Spirits staff — create exotic flavored vodkas...
