Our New Streng Home (Work In Progress) -Updated

Postby Chuck & Jess » Fri Nov 16, 2007 1:10 am

Hey Everybody....

We've been reading these forums for quite some time now, but never got around to posting.
We bought our Streng home in July, and moved into it in September.

We really love it, but it wasn't in the best condition when we bought it.
We have been pretty busy working on fixing it up.

So far, we have installed Classic Black VCT flooring.

Also, there was a terrible addition to the back, that look like a trailer that we ripped out.

Right now we are in the middle of working on our kitchen. We have been stripping off layers and layers of paint from the cabinets.

We recently got out house painted, and wanted to post some before and after pictures of the outside. The orange looks different in person, it is difficult to photograph.
Please ignore the yard, we haven't gotten around to that yet.

Even though we haven't been posting, this board has been a lot of help and a great resource for us. Thanks!

Hey! I recognize that Streng..

I was in your neighborhood looking over the Streng on Tufts and the repo on Overbrook, and your place is a real eye-catcher.
Nothing makes me happier than to see a very well-restored Streng. Your color scheme is very unique, but very appropriate.

It's been awhile! We've been pretty busy working on the house and it's taking a lot longer than expected.

We finally retiled both of our bathroom showers, one of which had a pretty bad leak that was leaking out onto our carport. :?

Here's a few pics of the new shower:

I'll add pics of our other bathroom later.

looks like you kept your original tub (same as in our eichler). what did you do to help spiff it up? new drain? i was thinking of taking the auto polisher to ours.

I particularly like that second color combination -- seldom if ever seen, for some reason. And the truly randomized pattern, without "blobs" of coagulated same-color tiles, is a pleasure to see, for a change. Congratulations !
