Lesser know MCM publications on California MCM

Postby scowsa » Sat Sep 17, 2011 4:14 pm

Went to the William Krisel Documentary & Q&A event today, presented by Presented by the Society of Architectural Historians-Southern California Chapter.

(BTW -- Futura Girl's Vegas Krisel is briefly shown in the section on Krisel renovations)

While there, I discovered they have several MCM short-form publications available from their website.

Examples being

Masters of Modernism: "Masters of Modernism": A 2-color brochure featuring the works of Richard Neutra and Frank Lloyd Wright in Bakersfield.

"Paul Tay: Architect": 8-page exploration of the Long Beach residential work of this undervalued modern architect.

Edward Killingsworth: Setting a Modern Standard: 20-page, black-and-white brochure featuring seven Long Beach houses and an article by the architect.

"Rodney Walker: The Ojai Years": trifold black-and-white brochure featuring Walkers important residences in Ojai, with pictures and articles by historian David Mason.
