I am the owner of a Cliff May prefab in Dallas, TX. The track here in Dallas is about 30 prefab homes built around 1953 +/-2yrs. There thankfully has been a revival over the past few years to restore and maintain these wonderful houses.

Found more Cliff Mays in Orange County in a sketchy part of Costa Mesa. They are on Center Street, between Pomona Ave and Wallace Ave. Most are in fairly good condition, some have been stuccoed over. From the outside, none look to be inhabited by the MCM-lovin' kind. I snapped some bad pics (below).

We just replaced french vinyl doors/windows w/ original cliff may doors/windows (thanks to the generosity of the neighbors-we didn't get charged for a single one - WE LOVE YOU GUYS!) :D . The original owners also took off the battons and covered the boards w/ aluminum siding. Another neighbor was wonderful and gave us original boards and battens so we could bring back out exterior). It was astounding to me how much it cost to unremuddle the house. In hindsight we should've bought a CM that was completely original exterior but needed interior remodeling. I will try to post pictures of our finally redone exterior!!! Now onto the next project...

cliff may

Postby deagna » Thu Nov 08, 2007 11:10 am

I also just joined! There are five Cliff May houses in Prairie Village, KS in a subdivision of developer J.C. Nichols who developed most of Kansas City's first suburbs and the Plaza downtown, for those of you who've been here.

Of our 5 Cliff Mays, one has a new steeper-pitched roof on it (and scalloped trim!), one is in excellent shape with new awning windows similar to what I'm putting in (original windows don't cut it in KC-- and are no longer operable), two are in ok shape-- I can't really tell because they are sort of hidden from the road, and ours which I think was awful and am going to fix.

Affordable Cliff May?

Most of the Cliff May prefabs in Denver can be had for less than $200K...

searching for Cliff Mays in Las Vegas...

I noticed that zipreality.com and realtor.com both give you the ability to search by year built. when I found the LV Cliff may homes before, I searched minimum sqft.

I spent some time today searching LV house built 51+ years ago and didn't see any. I suggest random searches using these parameters. eventually you'll find one.
