Free MCM style Dog House

Postby tikiyaki » Sun Dec 24, 2006 3:57 pm

Hey All,

I'm moving, and I'm giving away the dog house I built for my doggies.
It's great for a medium to large dog, or 2 smaller dogs. I built it with an Eichler style design and threw a quick stain job on it, but it would be much nicer with a nice paint job...I didn't have time.

Anyway, it's free to anyone who wants to come and take it away.
It's kinda big...almost 5 feet wide and about 30" deep.

contact me at my email tikiyaki@ca.rr.com

Here's a pic...

I’m going to have to consult with a general contractor. Maybe if we knocked out that front wall, and built out, there may be enough room for my dog, Nixon.

“Bigâ€￾ is a relative concept, tikiyaki. Nice dog house, though.

Off topic, Sky - but did you get a Wii for Christmas? I think I recognize the bowling scenery in your new picture. "Santa" brought one for my son and the whole family have been having a great time with it.

Lynx: Nixon is the sweetest dog imaginable. (There is the occasional drooling problem, but who among us doesn't have that from time to time.)

Sara: Santa (or maybe it was an elf) told my son that if he went to the mall at 4:00am one morning, and stood in line for four hours, that he could buy a Wii. My current avatar is my Mii. I'm often teased about my brows, but they are a little exaggerated here. I can bowl, but don't really care for the other games. The first day, my two sons played Zelda 12 hours straight.

Tiki: I hope you found a nice home for that great looking dog house.

Unfortunately I move out tomorrow, and no takers. Man, I don't wanna have to haul it to the dump...it's so friggin heavy.

Call the GC and see about that extension !

Nice doggie. I think he might actually fit in it tho

Tiki, did you craigslist it for free? I've given away things that are infinitely less cool than that on craigslist and had scores of people emailing for random items. Remember my old country clutter door that came with the house? I had TEN people want it and it didn't even have a door frame or hardware.

I don't even have a dog and I want that dog house.

Tiki, sorry I haven't said so sooner, but that's an awesome doghouse (and we geezers don't say "awesome" often !). A really convincing design -- I'm just now realizing that it's an ideal armature for a full-fledged colored-material "trim-out."

Put casters on it, drag it behind you (how far are you moving ?) and make it this summer's project ! Can't you see it ? Tarpaper-and-glued-on-white gravel roof, painted (stained ?) trim, and a "brick" or "block" or Phon-e-stone front wall (wood siding elsewhere), a little landscaping attached, tempered-glass (or polycarbonate) clerestory pane. . .

THIS is Furnitecture. . .!

Well, I'm in the wrong business. Tiki, in relation to the above site, your eichler dog house is worth at least $1500. :D

I like Tiki's mod dog pad. I wonder where it is now ? Maybe all dressed up in layers of finish material ? Either way, a lovely form -- and fun !
