Our offer on this home purchase was accepted Friday
assuming the inspections go well, its mine on May 1. Its a bit rough i a few areas, mainly the basement, but I'm very enthusiastic about the journey we're about to embark on!
Regards to all,

Welcome to the neighborhood! (I'm on Sunny Crest (just N of Burleigh Pl. & E of Calhoun)) You can check out my photos on pg 2 of the Midwest gallery.
Good Luck with the house. It looks like a great original.

Congratulations! Love the fireplace and the tropical mural - wonderful touches! Bummer that the furniture is gone. Good luck with everything!

Congratulations! The house is wonderful. Thankfully, I'm too far away to offer to help remove all that wallpaper! Keep the mural/tiki thing going!
Welcome to the neighborhood!

Hi - I'm a new poster here, too... have been reading for some time. My house was built in 1969, so technically speaking, it's not an MCM. But my house (and subdivision) was fashioned after the "California Contemporary" ranches of the 50's and 60's, so I like to think of myself as an "honorary MCM." Even the name says California: I live on the corner of Pomona and San Gabriel in the Mission Heights subdivision, off Pilgrim Rd just north of Wirth Park.
As my name implies, I'm all about Scandinavian Design. I'll be posting some pics of my remodel (I just moved into the place last October) soon.
Good luck on getting your house the way you want it, joestrom. Since there are now three of us living within a few miles of each other, it would be fun to get together and share ideas. Let me know if you're interested!

Wonderful. With random fieldstone, canted weather-boarded balcony and pierced eave detail, this one realy IS "Wright-inspired." Wright didn't do beamed ceilings, but I'd die for these. . .
Did the pull-down dining fixture remain ? Actually, I'm glad you'll have a chance to furnish it "your way". . .Congratulations !
congrats on your new pad!

Wow, you scored - your home is a real beauty!
A terrific home like that on a 1/2 acre... close to open space... for that price! Totally inconceivable for those of us here in CA.
