how to remove permanent marker from wood

Postby AJ Fisher » Sat Jan 12, 2008 12:53 am

i recently had some great success removing permanent marker from a 3-drawer Greta Grossman dresser.

i picked up this dresser from a thrift store. not sure what the permanent marker is supposed to spell, but after researching online, I tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. i don't own stock, but have to admit it worked great. the sponge is non-abrasive. it is odor-free and with 45 or 60 seconds of light work, each marker stain began to disappear.

my local grocery sells them at the check-out with the gum and the mag-rags.
it works. great for finger prints around light switches and walls from light installations.
should always be the first try in the list of artillary for surface gunk.

It's a good thing you took a picture, it looks like a clue to the Zodiac murders. Send it to the SF Chronicle!
