ID request - space-age sofa

this black, "space-age" sofa has no tag or markings. it is constructed of plywood, styrofoam, and covered in black vinyl. reminds me of airport seating. anyone know who made it or when? thanks.

We bought an identical sofa several years ago from Machine Age, a Boston vintage furniture store, whose owner was well versed in designers but he had not attributed it to anyone.

It has since been gifted to our daughter and you can see it here in house
