This is apparently a very common problem - often simply called the dreaded line 234 emailer.php bug. If you don't believe me just do a search on "line 234 emailer.php".

Of the hits on that search, it looks like the best and most recent explanation is here:
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 7#p2962165

(But the discussion with the hottest girls was here: http://forums.kylie.com/viewtopic.php?t=42394 )

It looks like the concensus is that the host has to fix a setting in the php.ini file, which I think is something that FG has to work with her host technicians to fix.

I get this when I post, but the post goes through just fine.

General Error

Failed sending email :: PHP ::

DEBUG MODE

Line : 234
File : emailer.php

Also, I'm not getting an email from the threads I post on, as of a couple of days ago. No biggie. . .

you have confirmed the dreaded news i have been not wanting to deal with - i need to change hosts.

it could be quick and simple or bumpy and messy - we won't know until i do it.

so i am going to hold off a little longer until my housing situation is complete and then i will tackle it.

so until then. it's the annoying debug error for yous guys.

Thanks, Futura Girl -- we can't blame you for wanting and needing to put this off ! It's a minor inconvenience.

Email from threads I've posted to has returned, apparently. Yay !

This has always been the most luxuriously-equipped phpBB chat site I'm personally aware of. So, if the left rear power window stops working, it's still an Eldorado Biarritz !

I have a suspicion that what happened today is the technological equivalent of Professor Hill’s “Think System.â€￾ Keep your fingers crossed, or in your case, Bender, your whatever.

de-bug mode is gone.
(just a personal update)
still, here in NY, 6am till aprox 4pm,...
critical error, blank, cannot connect to the server...
not an issue for me. I'm at work.

I'm not getting e-mail though and having to log in each time.
And some posts do not connect...

not a biggie, just relating any troubles that may help corrections.

It is probably clear to de-bug people. So just ignore this...

"muscle moll"

Postby Josquin » Thu May 08, 2008 4:00 pm

Oddly, when I returned to my response to" The long lost Millard Sheets files" , the artist Phil D i k e's name had been replaced with "muscle moll". What happened?

tooo funny - we have a naughy word filter - and it finds very funny ways of appearing when not needed.

for instance we had the classic "naughtybits-tail hour"

we'll see what we can do about that when we upgrade to the new version.

I like "naughtybits-tail hour". There's a bit of poetry in that. :D

George Carlin only had seven words that you can't say on TV, but I suppose that's a little dated now.

There are 18 words you can't write on LL. Collect them all!

OK, so either I'm so naive I can't come up with the chosen words...or my mind is so demented that none of the words I consider even remotely bad have been filtered out.

So far I've gotten #@$*, shaving cream, naughty bits, dirty broad, muscle moll, pussycat, lady of ill repute, rat fink, and crumb... (I definitely like "crumb" the best.)

Yes, this is actually what I am spending my Saturday night doing.

You're doing really well, Perks!

I'll give you one clue:
http://www.lottaliving.com/bb/viewtopic ... ght=#32384
It's a common word, something you see every day.

There are a few words that are more difficult. In one case, two different words translate to the same word. In another, the plural of the same word translates into a different word. I'll let that be your challenge.

i am sending out a mass email to our AAA list right now - which hits the database pretty hard.

when we switch over to the new ISP - this should be less of an issue.
i usually try to send these out on sunday nights - but we didn't get our final location approval until today.

I'm having the same problem. Currently using another computer to log in. I think there is some problem with the way the site tries to access my automatic log in cookie. I think I'll try clearing that and see what happens.

Let me know what you find out.
Not sure if i want to disable cookies.
I may not have kept such good track of it all.
Thought of changing Rockland to 'R' so i could save 10 seconds
every day :)
But that was an earlier problem of having to sign in each time.
And i thought of becoming a whole new person like Prince.
