That dome on the top of the Embassy Hotel and Theater is covered in incadescent lightbulbs. I hope they new management restores its rooftop light display when they restore the hotel.

With the Eastern clocktower, Orpheum theater, and UA Theater lighting up that part of downtown, the glowing Embassy dome would be a welcome neighbor.

The Oviatt clock tower works! It's lit up every night with pink and blue neon from about 7:45 on. It's a beaut!

According to the piece in the Times this morning about the Embassy (which has some nifty photos of the stained glass and the dome) these folks also own the Clark. (I heard tell that the Clark was owned by the Chinese govenrment, but I suppose that's outdated info.)

I imagine their next project'll be to turn the Clark into a hotel as well -- what I worry about is that they'll rename, and remove the amazing deco neon...
