it's actually MUCH more comfortable than it looks. And it has the added bonus of bringing people together... literally!

Solair!

Up with vintage!
Solair chairs are beautiful, numerous, comfortable, relatively cheap, and fairly indestructible.

I asked this same question not too long ago. I couldn't find anything right in terms of vintage, and after looking all over the place I found something nice from Lands End of all places. It's a teak dining table with benches. I am very happy with it and think it has a simple modern feel.

We've got some stacking Philippe Starck chairs in white, and an aluminum slatted table - I'll take some pics.

I thought I would resurrect an old thread that's likely to pop again in the Spring with news on a good value, nice style copy from CB2.

Yeah, CB2 has some good outdoor furniture. I was planning on getting those chairs above but was wondering how comfortable/uncomfortable they are.

I actually saw a decent simple outdoor dining table at Target the other day. And it's cheap too. Looks better in person. http://bit.ly/da5tlv

I have similar chairs from Target, purchased about 4 years ago. I have been very happy with them. Light weight powder coated aluminum with the mesh seat/back. I could only fit the chairs in my van. When I went back for the table, there were none! Mine are gray or silver metal with black mesh. Those look like black metal? In any case I can report that they have held up well outside that whole time.

There's always the "roll-your-own" option. What it lacks in refinement I think you gain in cost savings and customization. In my case, I looked at numerous couch options and they either lacked originality (how many fake wicker sectionals can they sell?), ridiculously expensive, or both.
