Short first introduction

Postby Truro » Tue Feb 05, 2008 10:55 am

Hi!
I'm a new member of this board and I will going to tell you shortly how
I got here. I happened to notice that there is really a name for the
1960s style I love so much - Googie. I have some books about 1960s
design, but in those there is only partially the style that I have been
looking for, but the Googie articles hit the mark! I'm a German
linguistics student currently studying in Finland. Besides, what's the
"general talk" forum? For example, I have above all a lot of common
questions that I can't really classify.
Greetings,
Truro

Hello Truro!

And welcome to Lotta Living!

There's no real "general discussion" forum here. Probably the two first forums on the list: the Midcentury Preservation one and the Modern Homes one are the gest for general questions and answers.

I'm sure many of us would be happy to see pictures from Finland!

You can give me your e-mail and I will send you a bunch of Finland
photos, including a "Googie" water tower... ;)

P.S. Hmm, actually I meant it as a joke because I thought every water
tower would look like that, but just I noticed that they look very
different. So the mushroom-shaped water tower reminds me of the
style, but the building was completed in 1993.
