Karen Hudson, Director of the Paul R. Williams Architectural Collection leads a discussion on April 18, 2015 on her grandfather who designed more than 3,000 projects including many iconic So Cal structures.

Williams is one of LA’s most famed architects who designed numerous celebrity homes as well as iconic Southern Californian structure including the futuristic Theme Building at LAX, Saks Fifth Avenue Beverly Hills and the LA County Courthouse. Williams’ career spanned 50 years and some 3,000 projects.

Williams was also the first black architect to become a member of the American Institute of Architects in 1923.

The lecture takes place at the Scottish Rite Cathedral in Pasadena which was built in 1925 by Joseph J. Blick and W.C. Crowell. This Zig-Zag Moderne styled building features distinctive decorative guardian sphinxes among other details.
