posted 09-12-2002 07:28 PM There is a wonderful apartment building called ?Balboa Palms? located at 8441 Balboa Blvd. in Northridge that is very similar to El Paradiso'. By Raphael Soriano. It is a morden all aluminum structure with fine yet fallow Eckbo inspired gardens and a clean geometric swimming pool. They currently have a one bedroom apartment available for $875.00 per month. It is now under new management and they seem unaware of the rarity and uniqueness of there building. It?s twin complex on Reseda Blvd in Encino had a fire and was horribly mutilated during it?s post fire remodeling. They stuccoed over the aluminum walls and removed all the Mid Century Modern charm that the place once had. This complex is still unspoiled and deserves some appreciative tenants. Check it out, they can be reached at (818) 349-5191, ask for ?Lillian?

posted 09-15-2002 02:02 AM I'd have to dig into some old records to be sure, but I think I used to live in this building! It's across from JBL, right? We lived there for about 6 months in 1983. If it's the same place, the apartments have huge bedrooms, and the layout was very pleasant, as was the landscaping. We were way in the back, so there wasn't much street noise.
